When I made my most recent Coloupop haul, I decided to try a few of the Super Shock Eyeshadows to see what they were like. Up until recently I haven't used anything on my eyelids that didn't come from Tarte, Morphe or NYX so I decided to have a change and try something new. Well, when it came to choosing which shades I wanted I was utterly spoilt for choice. With over 100 different colours to choose from, all with different finishes, it is no wonder that I ended up with about 14 sitting in my basket. I managed to limit myself but even then, I managed to buy quite an excessive amount!
For the sake of time and so I don't end up writing a 20,000 word essay on eyeshadows, I have decided to share just a few shades at a time to, y'know, keep the excitement growing. Today I am going to show you some shades which may not be perfect for everyday but they're still pretty damn glorious. Say hey to the Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows in Luckfully, Hydroplane, Donna & Telepathy.
About the Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows:
"Our famous long-wearing crème powder formula with a unique bouncy-like texture. It's super creamy, insanely pigmented, and has one swipe intensity with zero fallout."
All of the Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows have such a wonderful formula to them. They are all rich in pigmentation with one swipe being plenty - no need to layer up the eyeshadow in order to get a deeper colour here. The eyeshadows themselves are incredibly soft meaning they blend like a dream although because of this I do notice fallout when it comes to the application of the shimmery shades. When paired with my trusty MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, each of these eyeshadows stay put all day long without creasing, fading or transferring which is incredible considering they are quite cheap eyeshadows. I tend not to expect too much from the cheaper makeup products as I stick by the statement you get what you pay for but these eyeshadows really are incredible and at $5 each (roughly £4) they are too good to miss!!
The eyeshadows I've shared with you above are all so beautiful. Starting with Luckfully which is a bright cobalt-blue with a satin finish. I went through a phase of being obsessed with wearing blue eyeshadow just underneath the eye blended out softly with a soft brown shade all across the eyelid and this shade was perfect for that. As it is a satin eyeshadow it has a slight shimmer to it which I find does fallout slightly when it comes to application so when it comes to my darker Colourpop shades, I tend to apply my eyeshadow first and my foundation second as it does tend to get a bit messy otherwise.
The other three shades above are Hydroplane which is a beautiful glittery aqua from the Kathleen Lights x Colourpop collection - this shade looks beautiful in the inner corner of the eye as a pop of colour on top of a neutral brown matte. Then we have Donna which is a lovely deep emerald green; this shade looks lovely blended out all over the eyelids for a wash of colour with a sparkling silver on the inner corner of the eyes and finally, my personal favourite, Telepathy. Telepathy is the most gorgeous lime acid yellow with a metallic finish. Another shade from the Kathleen Lights collection, this shade was the one I was most excited about. From first glance you would expect to use it once in a blue moon but this is one of my most used out of all of the eyeshadows I bought. It is absolutely stunning and I thought there was no way I would be able to pull this shade off but gosh, it looks good on the eyes! I apply it on top of a neutral soft brown and it is so eye-catching and pretty, I am in love with it.
Colourpop used to be hard to get hold of here in the UK but now that they have got with the times and introduced international shipping which is really reasonable at $9.99, I think everyone should give this brand a try. If you do make an order, do be prepared to be stung by those pesky customs charges!!
