Review | Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip

Whilst I am still on the matte liquid lipstick train, I have recently rediscovered the love of the traditional lipstick in a bullet and gosh, I have forgotten how quick and easy it is to just swipe a bit of lipstick on and get on with my day rather than stand in front of the mirror with a lip liner and a steady hand - the two necessities for applying a liquid lipstick. What I love most about liquid lipsticks is that their staying power is greater than that of a traditional lipstick. They stay put all day long and they are incredibly pigmented but this isn't a post about me going on about how much I like them as a whole, oh no. This post is all about one I have recently rediscovered - the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip.

About the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks:
"A long-lasting, full-coverage matte lipstick in liquid form. The Liquid Lipstick’s ultra-saturated liquid formula delivers an intense amount of matte pigment in a single swipe. Just one application leaves lips with smear-resistant coverage that stays put for hours."

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks come in 30 various shades, ranging from light peachy nudes to deep plums, there is a shade for everyone within this range. Catnip is a pretty and easy-to-wear soft plum which I believe to compliment all skintones, although I found the shade to differ from skintone to skintone. I am very pale so on me Catnip looks more of a magenta pink but on people with deeper skintones it does appear to be more of a plum on the lips. It is a shade which is very wearable in day-to-day life making it more wearable than some of the other shades within the range.

Packaging-wise the liquid lipstick comes in the typical tube with a doe-foot applicator within the twist-up lid, you know the drill by now liquid lipstick fans! Unlike the majority of the liquid lipsticks I have tried, the Anastasia Beverly Hills versions do not smell like synthetic vanilla nor do they smell like a tube-full of chemicals. I can't notice any smell to them at all which is wonderful. There are so many lipsticks I own which I am reluctant to wear because of the smell that comes with them. The worst for this is HUDA Beauty. Their Matte Lipsticks smell so bad that I really have to force myself to use them.

Whilst I would always try to use a lip liner when it comes to the application of liquid lipsticks, I haven't got a lip liner which matches Catnip so I have survived without and actually, they aren't that messy to apply. The applicator is short and thin making application rather precise, although a steady hand is still needed! I wouldn't wear a matte liquid lipstick if my lips were really dry just because the majority of them do tend to highlight the dry areas but on a regular day when my lips could probably do with a bit of lip balm, I find the ABH Liquid Lipsticks to be absolutely fine in terms of dryness. I wouldn't say it were weightless as you can definitely feel that there is something there but it is nowhere near as bad as some of the other lipsticks I have tried.

Longevity wise I really can't fault these lipsticks. Catnip stayed put all day long without wearing, fading or transferring and for that I don't think I could ask for any more! The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks are definitely one of the better liquid lipsticks I have tried so for that I would definitely recommend them. Which is great as they are coming to the UK really soon!
