Other // Beauty Products I Love But Never Use

Does anyone else have a whole drawer crammed full of make-up they love but never use? I have so, so many products I love but hardly ever use. They just sit there, waiting to be used and loved but there is only so many products you can use at once. I dread to think how many lipsticks I own which hardly ever get used. Perhaps I have too many.. Ahh who am I trying to kid? You can never have too many lipsticks. Although I do currently have 12 lipsticks in my handbag which does seem slightly extreme.

The first beauty product that hasn't seen the light of day for a little while is the Chloe L'Eau de Chloe Perfume. I can't recall how I came to have this perfume but I remember it was the wrong one as I wanted the Chloe perfume which had the pink bottle rather than green but I kept it anyway. It's not that I don't like the scent - it is very fresh smelling but I do find it rather strong and overpowering. I do really like it and I will try and make more of an effort to wear it this Spring but I find that I choose different perfumes over this one.

I may only include one lipstick in this post but I could have quite easily included dozens of others which haven't had attention for a while. This Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in In Love With Ginger is a wonderful bright orange red shade which definitely packs a punch colour wise. Because it is so bright and so..orange, I do find it is a hard shade to wear in my day-to-day life.

The next product I love but haven't used for a while is the Seventeen Instant Glow Skimmer Brick in Pink Bronze. I used to wear this product nearly everyday as a highlight and it is so beautiful. There are four different rose gold shades within the pan which each look wonderful on their own as well as when they are all swirled together. Since buying this product I have purchased numerous other highlighters which is why this has been pushed to the back of the shelf but I will definitely make more of an effort to use it again.

Another cheek product I haven't used for a while is the Bourjois Little Round Pot Cream Blush in 02 Healthy Glow. The shade I purchased this in is a really lovely and wearable soft peachy coral but I find it hard to apply, especially when I am in a hurry in the mornings. I prefer powder blush over cream-based purely as a matter of ease. That said, I will try and wear this more in the summer, as well as learn how to apply it properly!

The final two products are both for the eyes and are both from MAC. The MAC Eyeshadow in Expensive Pink was again, the wrong product but I stuck with it anyway. I remember asking for All The Glitters but the girl in MAC heard me ask for 'Expensive Pink' which is totally understandable as the two sound very similar. I joke, I joke. It is no big deal but I think I have only used this eyeshadow a couple of times since I bought it. Expensive Pink is a wearable pink shade which has a duochrome effect to it. It is a nice shade but at the moment I have been preferring neutral toned eyeshadows so it hasn't seen love for a while. Then we have the MAC Pressed Pigment in Blue Willow. It was bought for me as a gift and as pretty as it is, I find it hard to work for me. If I apply it dry to my eyelids then I only get a silvery ice blue shimmer to the so it is better to apply it with a damp brush to fully achieve a wash of colour. It is a pretty shade but perhaps I would have chosen a more neutral toned pigment instead.

Those are a few of my beauty products that I love but haven't used in a while, what are yours?

    1. Oh me too! Which is why I am starting to think that perhaps I do have too much make-up. If I were to use up a product then move on to the next one it would take me years! x

  2. Ah, I can absolutely relate! I tend to wear all of my lipsticks, however other cosmetics are a very different story and especially when it comes to eyeshadows!

    1. I used to be exactly the same until I forced myself to use just two palettes for a while and I managed to hit pan on nearly every eyeshadow! I was very pleased with myself! x

  3. I definitely have makeup products that I love, but seem to never reach for. It seems to be the worst with lipsticks and eyeshadows! There are just so many colors and I tend to stick to the same few ones because I like them best... and cause I'm lazy lol. That shimmer brick is so beautiful. It reminds me of Bobbi Brown's!

  4. The Seventeen Instant Glow Skimmer Brick in Pink Bronzer looks gorgeous and it looks like a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick! I also have a lot of orange lipsticks and I have to say that, most of the time, I don't use them but, when the summer finally comes, I tend to use a lot of them with a light, easy makeup!

  5. I think we can all be a little bit guilty of this at times! I recently posted about 5 palettes that I love but rarely use (or should I days used because I've now changed that!) xx

  6. I don't have many products that I barely use, but I'm with you on the lipsticks, I have soooo many and most of them get forgotten about! You should definitely start wearing the Chloe perfume more, I really like the smell of that one.

  7. The Seventeen Shimmer Brick looks lovely. I think Makeup Revolution have brought out something similar recently. I need to try Chloe, it's so iconic and I've heard it's a beautiful scent.

  8. I have sooo much makeup I never use and I've been trying to let some of it go to friends and family because I can't bear to just let it sit there and expire. It's hard to part with some of them though because I'm like well, maybe someday I'll need it...even though I'll never NEED it with how much makeup I own. Loved this post! XO -Kim

  9. Oooh I love the bourjois little round pot blushes! I find that if I really like a product I sometimes seem to use it less because I'm worried about it running out!

  10. I thought I was the only one, especially with lipsticks as I have so many! I can see why some of the products you have are hard to wear, there aren't many occasions that call for bright eyes/lips.

  15. there is nothing more frustrating than buying something you think you are going to love then barely use. My top one has to be a YSL red lipstick, its so beautiful, but it transfers easily so I just barely use it :(

  16. Oh yes it's so annoying to understand that we don't use some of the products. That's why what I do is I set the particular selection of the make-up for every week and use it. The best way to hit the pan x

  21. Oh, I know what you mean by having so many makeup that I love but never used which was the main reason why I purged my makeup stash twice in a couple of months. I went from almost 200 lipsticks to now about 90. Also got rid of eyeshadows, foundations, blushers so now I have a very very small stash but one that I could easily rotate.

  22. LOL I thought this was just me that did this - I sometimes keep products that I love for special occasions especially when it comes to perfumes and scents!
When it comes to beauty products I tend to buy 2 or 3 of the same product and use them as I like :)

  27. I do this so often that I've started trying to rotate the things I have in my makeup bag on a weekly basis! I hate forgetting about things. I'm worst with single eyeshadows - need to get myself a Z palette!

  29. Oh my, Yes! The day I found my perfect lipstick- Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede (which sounds super complex, but it's just a basic lipstick that wears really soft and doesn't come off on your cup) -I never wore lipstick before because I smoked at the time, and the other long-wear lipsticks were dry or flaky and dried my lips out...remember that? Blecch!- I trashed all my other lip products, except this one moisturizing lip balm I've been using forever. But I'm constantly finding good eyeshadows at a bargain. I have one boring 'go to' palette for days I'm in a hurry, but I'm convinced I've not worn the other eyeshadows more than once. But I love them all! (I just got a little nauseated trying to think of adv actual number. I'm an eyeshadow hoarder! Lol) If you really press me, all I really need is a matte black liquid liner (cause I can get a different effect with my fingers- I'm a makeup MacGyver!) a good black mascara and my Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipstick in Fashionista- the reddest red they have, it's gorgeous- but having as much makeup to play with is amazing...even if I don't love it enough to wear in the street, lol.
