Review // Lush Frozen Bath Bomb

Honesty time - I have never watched Frozen. I can't stand the song that goes with it. I am sick of seeing that little snowman everywhere. I am, in general, a misery guts and the happiness police. So when Lush bought out a bath bomb inspired by the highly popular Disney film, I wasn't too fussed and it hasn't really appealed to me since. To be excruciatingly honest, if something were to be likened to Frozen then it would immediately turn me off! *hangs head in shame*

My friend, who happens to be a Disney lover, recently dragged me in to Lush where I vowed not to buy anything due to having about 12 bath products patiently waiting to be used in my bathroom. She kept going on and on about the Frozen Bath Bomb and how it was her favourite and how it was imperative that I try it for myself. I said "no, I don't succumb to peer pressure!" but things got aggressive and now I own the Lush Frozen Bath Bomb. And actually? It's pretty good.

About the Lush Frozen Bath Bomb:
"Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play? Enjoy the most magical soak in the kingdom with this shimmering blue bath bomb, which spills out rolling snowdrifts of silver lustre. Uplifting neroli oil from Tunisia and precious rose oil from Turkey are sure to spread a little sunshine and melt the iciest of moods. If your day's felt like a series of doors in your face, this shiny, sky blue bath bomb filled with sparkle provides the perfect fairytale ending. Step in, take a breath and let it go."

The Lush Frozen Bath Bomb smells absolutely wonderful. It smells utterly refreshing and isn't too potent or apparent. It smells very calming - perhaps one of my favourite Lush scents from a bath product. Whilst the inital shell of this bath bomb may look a little understated, it is no way near understated when dropped into a bath. The light blue of the bath bomb slowly fizzes gently in the water whilst the dark blue waistband dissolves fast. Both colours create a wonderful deep blue water with pretty patterns of different shades of blue floating along the top.

The dark blue portion of the bath bomb dissolves almost instantly whereas the pale blue portion takes quite a while to dissolve. In fact, it was bobbing along in the bath when I got in! When the bath bomb is dissolved you can see that the bath water has turned a beautiful dark blue with a lovely iridescent glitter sparkling around as an extra treat.

I could have quite happily stayed in this bath all night long. It was so gentle and calming, definitely not what I expected from a bath bomb inspired by a Disney film. I expected an all singing, all dancing bubblegum-sweet bath bomb but instead, you have a wonderfully calming and relaxing bath bomb which smells absolutely divine and leaves the water a beautiful deep blue shade with specs of glitter running throughout. The glitter doesn't linger on the skin but fortunately the scent does. Just for a little while, but enough to remind you of what a fantastic bath you have just had.

I was wrong to overlook this bath bomb purely because it was associated with a film I have never seen but still find quite irritating. If you love Frozen or not, you will still absolutely adore this bath bomb.

  1. I can't deny that I enjoy listening to Frozen hehe but it can be a bit frustrating when the song is stuck in my head on repeat. "Do you want to splash and play?" What a clever slogan Lush! I never tried a bath bomb from Lush but it's my birthday next month so maybe I'll treat myself. Imagine a Disney bath bomb that sang to you in the bath, that would be terrifying!

  3. LOL! I am not a Frozen fan either. I am more of a Little Mermaid kinda girl. Love the color of this bath balm. Lush is expensive, do you recommend using the entire bath balm or can it be divided up? Thanks http://thomasinawords.blogspot.com/

  4. I wish you'd have taken a picture of it in the bath! I think this is on my next Lush shopping list - I just have to use some of my stash up first!
