Review // L'oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Matte Mattifying Foundation in Porcelain

L'oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Matte Mattifying Foundation - £7.99
I recently wrote a post all about the L'oreal Infallible 24HR Foundation and you all seemed to love it! I had no idea it was such a highly loved beauty product. At the time of purchasing, I also bought the L'oreal Infallible 24HR Matte Mattifying Foundation and I thought "well, I couldn't possibly love it as much as original version" but guess what? I love it even more.

About the L'oreal Infallible 24HR Matte Mattifying Foundation:
"A matte result that lasts up to 24 hours. Clinically proven; waterproof, steamproof. All the comfort, none the shine. Perfect coverage. No cakey effect. Easy to apply, enriched with perlite technology and reduces the appearance of shine up to 24 hours."

Like the non-matte version of this foundation, I didn't look up reviews or know anything about this product before I purchased it. I decided to buy this foundation due to it being mattifying, something which I desperately need. I have fairly oily skin and I find that my foundation can wear away after a few hours and make me look wonderfully shiny so I knew I needed to make a few changes within my make-up routine.

I really want to do a post comparing the L'oreal Infallible 24HR Foundation with the matte version so I will try not to compare them too much now but rather than being enclosed in a glass jar like the original, this foundation is encased in a sweet little plastic squeezy tube. I quite like this packaging as I feel like I can really control how much product I get out of the bottle and I have found that I am yet to squeeze out more product than I actually need.

I prefer to wear medium to high coverage foundations as I have mild rosacea so I like to cover it as much as possible. Fortunately, this foundation covers my pink skin, blemishes and more! It is definitely medium to high coverage and incredibly creamy in texture. It isn't runny in consistency, nor is it so thick it becomes cakey. I don't need much of it to cover my entire face, just a couple of small spots of foundation is more than enough.

As this foundation is matte, it can show up dry areas on the face so it is best to exfoliate and moisturise beforehand, otherwise the dry areas can become quite evident. If you don't have dry skin then this won't be much of a problem for you but if you are prone to dry skin then prepping beforehand is probably advisable!

The L'oreal Infallible Matte Mattifying foundation lasts literally all day, does not budge, move, transfer or wear throughout the day, nor does any oiliness appear as the day goes on. With past foundations I have tried I have noticed that my t-zone would become fairly shiny as the day has gone on but fortunately I have not experienced this with this foundation. My face stays matte all day long and I could not be happier! I now no longer have to worry about dashing to my make-up bag to apply some more matte powder to my face at work out of fear of it appearing shiny.

Once again, I am incredibly impressed with L'oreal and their foundations. I am so pleased I have finally found a brand that caters for the pale skinned folk like me which does not make me appear orange in the slightest which, in itself, is remarkable. This foundation provides medium to high coverage which covers blemishes remarkably well without caking or wearing off during the day. I can't speak highly of this foundation enough and it has immediately become a firm favourite in my everyday make-up routine.

  2. This is my next 'to buy' Foundation after I finish up what I've got. The lady in Boots kept raving to me about it but now that I've read so many rave reviews, I know it has to be good!
