Review // Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit

We have all heard about it. It is considered a favourite, a must-have, an item people cannot live without.. And yet, I have never tried it. In fact, I have never tried any products from the brand of one of the co-founders namesake.

I believe that at the age of 22 I should start looking after my skin properly. Picking up any old cheap facial wash or cleanser in the supermarket is doing me no favours so it is about time I started to buy higher priced products that offer natural ingredients to help not only my skin but also the environment. I have wanted to try Liz Earle products for a while now but I decided to start off with a product I knew everyone loved so I bought the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit.

About the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit:
"Rich and creamy, this hot cloth cleanser quickly removes daily grime and make up (even stubborn mascara) leaving all skin types clean, soft and radiant. With purifying eucalyptus essential oil, toning rosemary plus soothing chamomile and cocoa butter. Inside the Kit is the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 100ML and 2 pure muslin cloths."

After just one use I could see why it is so loved. I love everything about it - from the packaging, to the little muslin cloths within the starter kit and most importantly, the product itself. I decided to go for the Starter Kit to begin with which contains a 100ML bottle of the Cleanse & Polish formula, as well as 2 muslin cloths, but I could quite easily immediately purchase the 200ML bottle. Obviously you would only ever need to buy the starter kit once, unless you wanted to buy it purely for the muslin cloths which are obviously designed to take the cleanser off with. You can buy a 100ML bottle for £14.00 so essentially you are spending an extra £1.50 on the muslin cloths which aren't deemed necessary as a face cloth/flannel will work just as well, although the muslin cloths do feel rather wonderful on the skin.

The cleanser is easy to dispense using the handy pump dispenser at the top of the bottle and I find that two small pumps is plenty to cover the entire face with. The formula is thick and creamy and smells lovely and fresh, definitely ticking all of the boxes that you would wish for in a daily cleanser. The ideal way of using the cleanser is to massage it all over the face and neck, and eyelids if you so wish, then dip your muslin cloth/flannel into hot water, wring out, then gently polish off the cleanser from the face. What I absolutely love about this product is that it is so gentle to the skin that you can use it around the eye area without any irritation, which goes to show how wonderful and soothing the ingredients are within the cleanser.

This cleanser is designed to remove stubborn make-up and daily grime whilst leaving the skin feeling soft and radiant and it most definitely does that. Whilst I don't use it to take my make-up off entirely, it works excellently well at removing any scraps I failed at removing myself and works wonders for the skin. I know Superdrug has their own version of the Hot Cloth Cleanser and whilst I haven't tried that, the original is well worth every penny and I will definitely be buying a bigger bottle! I can definitely see why people love it so much and I can also understand why people subscribe and get sent a new bottle each month! That is definitely a subscription service I want in on.

  4. I love Liz Earle - genuinely couldn't be without it. I definitely notice the difference (not a good one!) when I've neglected to use it regularly. If you buy from Liz Earle direct online, I seem to find that they just send you muslin cloths all the time - I have so many!
