Other // Why Travel Size Products Are Sometimes Better

I love mini products. They are small, cute, take up less room in the make-up bag and you can travel with them easily. Plus, they work just as well as the full-sized version. If you open up my ever-growing make-up bag, you will find that 1/3 of the products in there is made up of mini sized make-up products. Mini size.. travel size.. sample size.. Three different variations with the same meaning.

Whilst I wouldn't say I necessarily went out of my way to buy travel sized products rather than their full sized version, they sure are handy to have. It's only recently that I have realised just how handy they are. When I go on holiday, I used to just shove all of my make-up and their full size bottles into my suitcase without a second thought. But now I have become more travel savvy, I have started to add travel sized make-up products into my hand luggage, just in case my suitcase doesn't arrive at the same destination with me.

Whilst all of that is fairly common sense and nothing earth moving, I've started finding myself using travel size products more and more every day too. With such an amazing range of travel size make-up now, there is no reason to just save them for travel. I buy a lot of high-end make-up in travel size first to see if I like the product enough to buy full size. Because of this, I have now bought all of the above in their full sized variants. Let's also not forget that mascaras dry up really quickly. I hardly ever manage to finish a full size mascara before it dries up so it always goes to waste. I've recently started using mini size mascaras as I always manage to finish the tube, it works just as well as the original size and most importantly, the brush is exactly the same.

Let's talk price. A lot of high-end brands actually give away sample sizes for free so always ask first before you buy. I've tried a few high-end foundations this way and most of the sample sizes last a fair few days too. Benefit is a great brand which does fantastic mini products. They cost around £9.95 each for about 3.0g of product which is in comparison to £19.50 for 8.5g so whilst they aren't good value for money, they are handy to have.

  11. I love minis so much. I thought about doing a blog post on all of my minis but it never happened, maybe I will reconsider.

  12. I totally am seeing the worth of my trial size items! You do use them up before they go bad, you actually have a chance to use them up quicker (less of a project pan issue) and trying without spending the full price! I also like the easy travel since they're so tiny.
