Review // Victoria's Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum

Victoria's Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum - £34.72 (50ml)
With my Victoria's Secret Body Mist collection growing at a rather rapid rate, I have decided to stop buying them. A bottle lasts for months, they are incredibly long wearing and lasting and they smell pretty damn good. Which is probably why I have about 9 bottles still left to use. It is probably just as well I have decided to stop buying them! I needed something to fill the VS Body Mist void in my life, which is why I have this. The Victoria's Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum. I may have given up the body mists (for now) but I am definitely not stopping myself having a perfume or two!

I will start off by saying the same thing I say when I try and review scented items - I have no idea how to get a scent into words. I do believe saying "this smells amazing, you should all buy it" just is not enough. I don't know if you will like it or not so it is always best to try it out on yourself first before buying a bottle of perfume as I know some perfumes smell differently on the skin than in the bottle. A few years ago I bought a Chloe perfume as it smelt so good in the bottle but when I wear it I don't think it smells particularly nice.

What Victoria's Secret say about their Bombshell Perfume:
"Sexy today, sexy tomorrow, sexy forever: our signature award-winning Bombshell fragrance in a gorgeous emerald-cut bottle. Fruity, floral fragrance with notes of purple passion-fruit, shangri-la peony and vanilla orchid."

I know. I know what you are all thinking. Purple passion-fruit? Shangri-la peony? Vanilla orchid? All in one bottle? Mm-mm! Heaven in a bottle, right?! Yes, it is. This also leads me back to what I said a few sentences above. How is one supposed to know what shangri-la peony smells like? How can I determine if I will like a fragrance just down to which notes are in there?

Ever since I was bought the Versace Red Jeans Perfume many years ago, I have never liked sweet scents. If it is overly synthetic with sweetness then I just can't handle it. Think Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake, those types of scents I can't stomach. I tend to favour lighter, floral scents instead. I love Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana. Oddly, though, Bombshell is much sweeter than those perfumes. It is sweet without being sickly. Somehow it manages to be sweet whilst remaining light and florally. It is absolutely perfect for the day and a few hours after I have first sprayed it on I can still smell it on the skin.

This is one of the only perfumes I wear that I actually get complimented on. I have lost count of the amount of people who have asked what it is and where I bought it from. If you have ever stepped foot into a Victoria's Secret store and liked the smell they pump out or spray the room with then you will love this! I imagine some people would never think about buying a perfume from Victoria's Secret. We all kind of forget that they do items other than pretty underwear and pj's. It is so worth having a look at their perfume and scent section if you are ever in one of their stores, albeit an actual full scale Victoria's Secret store or one of the little stores you get at the airport. Victoria's Secret have a quiz you can take on their website to figure out which of their scents you would like the most, I filled it out and I actually got the Bombshell Perfume as my result! You can take the quiz here.

Overall, I absolutely love this perfume. It is sweet without being too overpowering whilst remaining light and perfect for everyday. At around £35 for 50ml it is fairly reasonable and I truly believe it is worth its #1 best seller status. I will definitely be repurchasing and I can't wait to try out the new Victoria's Secret Bombshell Fragrance Mist!

Update: Weirdly, I just read an article on the Daily Mail website (so it must be true!!) stating that this perfume wards off mosquitoes! You can read the article here.

  3. My boyfriend told me I had money to spend in Victoria's Secret as a treat and I didn't have a clue what to buy and reading this has kind of sold the perfume for me. I was in 2 minds wither to get it or not and I think I will now. Great post!

  4. I think I would get it solely for the bottle, without caring how it smells hahah. It's so cute and it's a perfect decor piece!

  5. The Victoria secret perfumes are mostly smell sweet. I never used that one before and I look into fragrantica for this perfume, I think the notes are so good. I might buy it from my local store like Buy Perfume in Bangladesh. Thanks for sharing.
