Review // Natural Collection Solo Eyeshadow in Willow

It has been quite a while since I browsed the Natural Collection stand in Boots. I am definitely in no way a make-up snob. If I like a product then I don't care what brand it is or which shop I bought it from - after all, we don't wear the labels on our face, do we?

I love watching Youtube videos at the moment and a channel in particular that I take great enjoyment out of watching is Jamie Genevieve. Jamie is a professional make-up artist and I can only dream of having her talent for all things make-up related. A little while ago she upoaded a video of a drugstore make-up tutorial and I sat and watched in awe. The girl can do wonders and one item in particular that she used was one that I decided I had to have, in hope that I could create her masterpiece on my own face. The product in particular was the Natural Collection Solo Eyeshadow in Willow.

In the video Jamie uses the Natural Collection Eyeshadow as an eyeshadow and as a highlight and it is gorgeous. It looked so beautiful, especially on the cheekbones for a subtle shimmery pink champagne highlight. At the moment I am currently building my highlighter collection but it is nice to have a 2-in-1 product that costs just £1.99!

Packaging wise, as the product is cheap then of course the packaging will be too. In the video, Jamie's eyeshadow actually fell out of the packaging so it goes to show what you are working with but that hasn't happened to me yet. I have quite a few Natural Collection lipsticks and I can't even remember how many times I went to twist up my lipstick to use to find the whole bullet had broken off inside the plastic packaging.

Product wise, I cannot fault it. It really is the most beautiful cool toned shimmery eyeshadow/highlight that is an absolute bargain at £1.99. I did try to take photos of Willow on the skin without flash but my camera did it no justice whatsoever which is a shame as I would love for you all to see what it is actually like, although Jamie's original tutorial is probably the best place to view it in all its glory. Considering it only costs less than £2.00, this eyeshadow is well pigmented and soft to the touch which makes it incredibly easy to buff and blend on the eyelids and the cheeks. It lasts fairly well on the face, especially so as I have fairly oily skin and I find make-up seems to shine away as soon as I have applied it.

Overall, I just cannot fault it. If you want a cheap, easy to use, easy to wear eyeshadow come highlighter then look no further.

  4. I love their blush! Mine has fallen out of the packaging, but I'm not too bothered, it works just as well! I can't get over the price, I will have to pick this up. Such an underrated brand!

    1. The packaging is incredibly flimsy, I have a few of the lipsticks and they fall out of the tube all of the time but they are great products nonetheless! xx
