I have been after a really pretty, shimmery highlight for a while now. I was tempted to treat myself to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade but before I hit that checkout button on the MAC website, I decided to have a little look in my local drugstores first. Fast forward to today when I spent 36 minutes staring at the same make-up stand in Superdrug. I know. 36 minutes. That is indecisiveness for you. I did come away with a few items though, including this little beauty. The Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights. Want to know the best thing? This is a dupe for MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade!
The Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights is a phenomenally pretty powder highlighter that is creamy white in colour; not really golden at all. I expected it to feel quite gritty in texture and fortunately it isn't. Instead, it is silky smooth to touch although it can feel a little bit chalky but only just a little bit. I bought this earlier today and as soon as I got home I decided I couldn't wait until tomorrow to try it out so I immediately took my make-up off and re-applied it. If this highlighter looks pretty in the pan then goodness me, does it look good on the face!
I applied the highlighter to the top of my cheekbones using a fan brush and it instantly gave me the pretty, shimmery highlight that I have been longing for. One small swipe of product on my brush was plenty to cover both cheekbones whilst leaving a healthy glow to the face although this can be built up quite easily if you wanted a stronger highlight. It stayed put for the rest of the day without wearing away or fading and there is no glitter fallout either.
For £3, I cannot speak highly of this product. It is a beautiful, soft powder highlight that is easy to build up to a stronger shimmer if you so desired. For three measly pounds you get a massive 7.5g of product which is guaranteed to last you a very long time, especially as a little goes a long way. One small little niggle is the packaging. I really would not want to drop this product as I imagine it will all end in tears! Whilst I wouldn't say it was flimsy, it does feel slightly cheap but as the product is so god damn good, I think we can let that go!
I have a little giveaway coming tomorrow so keep an eye out!
I've yet to try Makeup Revolution's highlighters. I love everything else by them though, so maybe I should pick this up soon!

I love Makeup Revolution's pressed powder, but I just bought MUA's highlighter in a similar colour and love it!
