Review // Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb - £3.95
I think by now you will know that I do love Lush and their products. I have tried a few of their Bath Bombs by now, some are more special than others. For ages I have been going on about the 'bath bomb that makes your bath look like a nebula' and no-one knew what I was talking about. I actually thought I was making it up and had got confused but no! It is a real thing and it is called the Lush Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb. Sadly my local Lush didn't have Shoot For The Stars but they did have the next best thing, the Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb.

About the Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb:
"Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bath bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy. An awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy takes you on a trip around the Milky Way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky. Before you leap too far, rogue layers of vetivert and cedarwood take hold, evoking the warmth of human contact far from home and an 80s aftershave. Return from your intergalactic brief encounter as the grounding scent brings you gently back from orbit."

I had this bath bomb in my bedroom for a few days before I decided to use it and within those days I decided that I really do not like the smell of it. The peppermint is very apparent and it took me a while to realise that I didn't like it very much although that definitely did not stop me from using it! Like with every Lush Bath product I try, I always get incredibly excited when I am about to drop it under hot water to see what exciting things will happen and unlike a few of the previous bath bombs I have tried, this definitely does not disappoint.

When I run a bath it is usually far too hot so I put some more cold in, then it is too cold so I get fed up and end up getting out after 10 minutes which is pretty wasteful. This bath bomb was so good that I stayed in for well over an hour. An hour! In the bath! You can imagine what sort of dried fruit I ended up looking like as I stepped out. Honestly, it is pretty damn impressive. Once the Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb is dropped under hot water, it immediately dissolves into a big, beautiful, rainbow coloured mess. I didn't find the popping candy within the bath bomb very apparent, in fact, I didn't realise it was in there at all, but that's okay. It's impressive regardless. Underneath the rainbow coloured layers is a deep, dark blue water filled with gold glitter which creates the effect of a clear, midnight sky.

I felt like I was sat in a bath full of stars. And I absolutely loved it. It is a bit of a pain to clear up after all of the water had drained out of the bath, leaving a bath full of gold glitter behind but it was so worth scrubbing the bath out at 10pm at night for. The Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb is now one of my favourites, one I can definitely forgo the smell for.

  1. I'm following lush kitchens bathart hashtag at the moment and you should totally have entered a picture of this in use to it. It sounds like it'd look like a Van Gogh painting!
