Review // BareMinerals The Finer Things Eyeshadow Palette

BareMinerals The Finer Things Eyeshadow Palette - £16.99*
I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with a website called Save On Make Up via The Blogger Programme and I got sent this gorgeous little eyeshadow palette to try out, along with a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. The palette I was sent was the BareMinerals The Finer Things Eyeshadow Palette which came with a mini BareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer*.

Before I tell you about the product, let me tell you about Save On Make Up! Save On Make Up is a website where you can buy high end and drugstore make-up at discounted prices, making your money stretch a lot further. With brands such as MAC, BareMinerals, Too Faced, Urban Decay and YSL featured on the website, it is definitely a website to save to your favourites.

About the BareMinerals The Finer Things Eyeshadow Palette:
"Splurge on the finer things in life with the BareMinerals The Finer Things Set, a perfect gift for those who want wearable eye shadow colours with an extra bit of glamour. BareMinerals READY Eyeshadows provide vivid, long-lasting colours in a silky texture for seamless blendability. As always, it contains the SeaNutritive Mineral Complex which helps to deliver a softer, smoother, revitalised eye area. Apply over Prime Time Eyelid Primer to maximise the intensity and staying power of these eyeshadows for crease-proof, fade-proof looks."

I haven't tried any of BareMinerals make-up before so I wasn't too sure what the pigmentation or longevity would be like but I was definitely looking forward to trying each shade out. Inside the set is the Prime Time Eyelid Primer and an eyeshadow quad with a duo end brush which I am yet to try. Also in the set is a little guide to show you which eyeshadows to wear together which I think is quite handy to have and a nice little extra.

I will do a separate post on the primer which I love so much it deserves its own post but let's talk about the eyeshadows. Each eyeshadow has its own name which makes it much easier when trying to distinguish each shade so let's go through them.

Penthouse- Black glitz. Penthouse is deep black matte with silver sparkle running throughout which is incredibly pigmented. You only need the tiniest amount of Penthouse to get into the crease of the eye due to its intense pigmentation. What I love most about this eyeshadow is that the silver sparkle is very evident on the eyelid which I find some darker eyeshadows manage to lose their sparkle when applied. I think it would be incredibly easy to get carried away with this eyeshadow but hey, that is not a bad thing.
Custom Made- Pink quartz pearl. Custom Made is a beautiful soft pink with an almost metallic shimmer running through it. It instantly reminded me of MAC's Expensive Pink without the orange undertones. I would actually go one step further and say I much prefer this to Expensive Pink. I find it be soft, blendable and intensely pigmented.
Chateau- Slate stone. Chateau is a dark grey with an almost matte finish. I think out of all of the shades in the palette, this is one of the shades I am least likely to use but I can imagine it would look beautiful buffed into the crease of a matte nude eyeshadow.
Truffle- Glistening chestnut. Truffle is a golden copper with a metallic shimmer running throughout. As shades go, I think I already own this eyeshadow in many other similar palettes so colourwise it is nothing original but it a beautiful, easy to wear chestnut shade.
First Class- Light silver sheen. First class is a cool pewter shade with a metallic shimmer running throughout. Like all of the other shades in the palette, this shade is intense in pigmentation, soft to the touch and incredibly easy to blend and apply.
Upgrade- Upgrade is a wearable taupe with brown undertones. It has a metallic finish and is intensely pigmented. I think out of all of the shades in the palette, this is the shade I have worn the most as it is the most neutral eyeshadow in the quad.
Fivestar- White light. White light is a white eyeshadow with a satin finish. Out of all of the eyeshadows in the palette, I doubt I will never wear this shade. I am so pale and ghostly white already, I really cannot see myself reaching for this eyeshadow which is a shame as it is beautifully pigmented and I love the satin finish.
Private Isle- Cobalt sheen. A dark blue eyeshadow that is neither metallic or matte in finish. It is not very bright which makes it more wearable but it is rather subdued in colour. Like Fivestar, I can't imagine myself wearing this eyeshadow too much.

All of these eyeshadows are beautifully soft and easy to blend. As eyeshadow palettes go, it is a varied bunch of shades put together but they all work well together. I cannot fault their pigmentation or their longevity - they last all day and do not crease nor have I experienced fallout at all. Overall, I am very impressed with this quad and would say the eyeshadows are just as good as MAC Eyeshadows, if not better.
