Review // L'oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in Cafe St Germain

L'oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow - £5.49
No-one knows my make-up preferences better than my sister so when I received this little beauty at Christmas time, I was more than happy. Whilst I am trying to mix up my everyday make-up in hope that I don't get stuck in a routine, every now and then I do love to go back to my beloved smokey taupe eyeshadow.

My sister bought me the L'oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in Cafe St Germain which is a beautiful metallic taupe. I love this eyeshadow on it's own as well as paired with the MAC Paint Pot in Frozen Violet which I have reviewed here.

What L'oreal say about their Color Riche Eyeshadows:
"Color Riche Eyeshadow offers a uniquely rich choice of colours in irresistibly attractive packages. Black and gold come together for high-fashion cases - the ultimate in chic - that you'll want to take with you everywhere.

Intensified colours: Thanks to the expertise of L'oreal Paris Laboratories, raw materials (pigments & mixed pearlescents) were skillfully selected to offer intense and bright colour payoff.

A sensorial texture: Color Riche eye shadows reveal a creamy and smooth texture which transforms the make-up gesture into a precise and comfortable sensory application."

When I wear Cafe St Germain on it's own, I apply it on top of the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly to keep it in place all day. I apply it with a fluffy ELF eyeshadow brush which works wonderfully with it. There is a little bit of glitter fallout but not too much to whinge about. When I wear it with Frozen Violet, I apply Frozen Violet as a base with my ring finger then pat Cafe St Germain on top with the same ELF brush. The results are beautiful. I get a wonderful frozen, frosted metallic taupe with a hint of violet which a lot of people have complimented me on which is rather lovely!

I love MAC eyeshadows and often thought you couldn't compare them to anything else but I think the L'oreal Color Riche Mono Eyeshadows more than hold their own against them, for more than half the price with the same level of pigmentation. I haven't tried any of the other Color Riche Eyeshadows but I definitely will be now!

  1. I had one of these eyeshadows and I loved it! I found it was a bit crumbly though and it smashed really easily :( x
