Review: Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser SPF 15

My beloved Garnier moisturiser ran out a couple of weeks ago and I've been on the hunt for something similar ever since. In the meantime, I had been using Nivea's Creme which, as much as I love it for a night time moisturiser, it does nothing for me in the day. For day time it is far too thick and creamy. I applied it one morning and had to wait so long for it to soak into the skin, even then it wasn't as soaked in as much as I would have liked which meant my foundation ended up sliding all over my face when I tried to apply it.

Nivea Creme safely stored away for bed time, I hunted around for something else. I went to Boots and was going to buy the Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream but then the Boots own brand Simply Sensitive range caught my eye. With prices ranging from £2.49 to £3.79, it is definitely an affordable range to buy from - especially when Boots often have money off their products. I know you get what you pay for but, actually, this product has really surprised me.

Having heard nothing about the Simply Sensitive range before, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if the consistency would be thick or thin, light or runny... Luckily it is just what I was looking for.

What Simply Sensitive say about their products:
"Boots Simply Sensitive skincare range has been specially formulated to be kind to your skin. A simple collection of products which are fragrance and colour free. Containing soothing aloe vera, your skin is left feeling soft, smooth and cared for."

What Simply Sensitive say about their Protecting Day Moisturiser:
"This oil free moisturiser has been specially formulated with vitamin E and SPF 15. It helps keep skin supple and is formulated to be non pore blocking. It leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and helps protect against premature ageing caused by sun damage."

"Using gentle upward strokes, smooth over face and neck after cleansing and toning."

After cleansing and toning my face, I was a bit unsure as to how much product I'd need to cover the whole of my face and neck so I squeezed out a 10 pence piece size of product into my hand. The moisturiser is really light but creamy at the same time, which makes it the perfect day moisturiser. The moisturiser is completely soft and gentle on the skin and it has a lovely clean, fresh scent to it. It left my skin feeling really soft and hydrated, just what you expect from a moisturiser. I wouldn't say I had sensitive skin so I can't say how it affected me in that sense but it was really soft and gentle and felt lovely to use.

It didn't take too long for the Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser to settle into the skin either which makes it perfect for those days when you're in a rush. It also has an SPF 15 in it which makes it perfect to use to protect from those harmful rays.

Overall, a lovely purse friendly light, fresh moisturiser which has an SPF 15 in and it settles into the skin in no time. I wouldn't say it changed my world but, it is an excellent moisturiser that definitely hold its own against well known brands.
