Review: ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum

ELF Baked Eyeshadow - £3.75
Just before Christmas I was on ELF's website ordering a few items for my sister for Christmas and I decided to treat myself to an eyeshadow. ELF have so many different varieties of eyeshadows that I was stuck for choice but I finally settled on the ELF Baked Eyeshadow in the shade Burnt Plum.

Burnt Plum is a deep, plummy burgandy with a subtle shimmer throughout. It's a very beautiful colour, one which I wouldn't usually wear everyday but it would be the perfect colour for a night out.

What ELF say about their Baked Eyeshadows:
"The silky and blendable formula of our Baked Eyeshadow provides smooth and even application with each sweep of colour. Baked in an oven, these eyeshadows offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting and shimmering colour can be worn wet or dry."

When I swatched this eyeshadow I found that it didn't really pack much of a punch when applied dry so when I applied it to my eyelids I used a damp eyeshadow brush, patted it on and the results were much, much more striking. When applied wet I didn't need much product at all to cover my eyelids and it dried really quickly, perhaps a little too quickly as I found it hard to alter any mistakes.

I haven't yet tried this eyeshadow dry on the eyes but maybe it will be a much more wearable everyday colour as it won't be as striking. When applied wet I layered it above the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and it didn't fade, crease or move at all through out the day which is a huge bonus.

Overall, for the price, the variety of colours and the ability to apply it wet or dry, the ELF Baked Eyeshadows are such a great value for money. They don't move or budge throughout the day and they apply so smoothly and with great ease.
