Tutorial: Neon Ombre Nails

When in doubt over which two nail varnishes to choose, use both and ombre! This is what I did on Friday when I couldn't decide between the OPI Nail Lacquer in Cotton Candy Coney Island and the China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Flip Flop Fantasy.

It got a little messy but I love the finished result! As Flip Flop Fantasy is so bright in real life the photos don't really do it much justice but it is certainly eye catching that's for sure.
Products used were:
- Avon Revitacool Base Coat
- OPI Nail Lacquer in Cotton Candy Coney Island
- China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Flip Flop Fantasy
- Rimmel Super Wear Top Coat
- Make-Up Sponge

How to do it:
- Paint nails with a base coat and a base colour, allow to dry.
- Paint a thin layer of the colour you want to ombre onto the make-up sponge and carefully dab it onto half of your nail.
- Paint a thicker layer of nail varnish onto the sponge and dab onto the tips of your nails to give a gradual effect. (You may need to repeat this twice on the tips of the nails so that the base colour is fully covered.)
- Once dry paint a top coat.
- Stare at your lovely freshly painted nails!

The only problem I had with this is how long they lasted. I did this on Friday evening, it's Sunday evening now and 6 nails have chipped, 3 quite badly, even with 4 coats on top coat.
