Review: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow in Pink Gold

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow - £4.99
On Tuesday, still on a bit of a high from passing my driving test, I decided to pick up a few items I've been after for a while whilst in Boots as a little treat. I ended up purchasing one of the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadows in the shade Pink Gold.

I haven't tried any of the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Cream Gel Eyeshadows before so I didn't know what to expect. As they are described as gel cream eyeshadows so I expected them to be like the Rimmel London Colour Mousses or like the 17 Wild Cream Eyeshadows

Pink Gold lives up to it's name as it's a gorgeous pink with a hint of gold running through it. When applied it doesn't look too sparkly which is good as you can layer it up and use it during the day as well as during the night and not worry about wearing too much glitter on your eyelids.

Just like 17's Wild Cream Eyeshadows, I did expect the eyeshadow to be a bit creamier and easier to use than it actually is. It's pretty solid in the jar and you need to work with it in order to use it. I applied Pink Gold using my fingers over a primer (the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly) which I thought would be easier than using an eyeshadow brush. First I dabbed it on but wasn't really getting anywhere so I swiped it over my eyelid and found it much easier and less time consuming.

Not only does this eyeshadow look incredibly pretty, it also lasts forever. Obviously the title says it lasts 24 hours and I think it would last even longer than that - I swatched it on my arm in the store on Tuesday and despite numerous showers since, it's still there. I wore this eyeshadow all day yesterday and it didn't crease, nor move which is excellent. I did wear a primer underneath so I'm not sure if that helped it stay on longer or not so I will wear it without and let you know how I got on.

  1. I have a couple this tattoo, they are fantastic for the price. Pink gold is so pretty, going on my wishlist!! Xx

  2. I have the Eternal Gold one and they do last without primer (: x
