Review // MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly

About a month ago my sister and I were wondering around MAC in Debenhams in Chester trying to find the MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick. As it is ridiculously bright I spotted it a mile away before realising that it's a bit too bright for me and my shy, retiring ways. We then came across the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots. I picked up a Paint Pot in the shade Painterly and, well, one thing led to another and before I know it I had a basket full of MAC products and I was barging my way to the tills with my debit card before I could change my mind.

The MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots comes in a small glass pot which gives the impression that there is more product in the pot than there actually is. There is only 5 grams in there but luckily a little goes a long way. I opened the little black standard MAC packaging, screwed open the little pot and I was, at first, a little disappointed. It wasn't how I remembered it in the shop. When I opened the pot it had a little shiny coating to it. I put my finger in it but nothing came off so you need to soften it a little. From reading other reviews on this product it would seem that you need to give it a bit of work before you receive any pay off and I completely agree.

You can either use the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots on their own or underneath a powder eyeshadow to help prevent creasing. I've worn Painterly for both uses and it works in both ways perfectly. I do tend to use it mostly under eyeshadows from MUA's Heaven and Earth palette and the eyeshadow stays on my eyelids all day. Now I don't know if this is to do with the Paint Pot or if the eyeshadows just don't crease at all as I haven't used them without but I like to think it's the Paint Pot working it's magic!

Painterly is a nude beige coloured matte cream based eye product which blends into my light ivory coloured skintone perfectly. This product works really well with my skintone, so much so that can't really tell that I'm using it. It makes my eyelids look softened, blended and neutral and I really, really love it.

  1. I've been really tempted to buy this for ages but always thought it to be too expensive... but your good review is not helping resist the temptation!
