Purederm Deep Cleansing Nose Strips - £1.00
Whilst I am fairly lucky that I very rarely get spots, I do struggle with blackheads. It is a little gross to think about but hey, we all get them and we all need a way to get rid of them, don't we?

When I was younger I read in Sugar Magazine that you could get rid of blackheads by using pore strips, applying them to your face for 5 minutes before ripping them off to reveal lovely, flawless skin. I sat and thought about this for a few minutes before thinking "okay, I can do this" so I got out a roll of sellotape, stuck various lengths of it on my face and left it for a few minutes before ripping it off - it didn't leave quite give the affect I desired.

I remember giving up with the sellotape and wandering aimlessly around Boots before coming across the Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Nose Strips. Unfortunately at £7.99, these don't come cheaply so whilst in Bodycare the other day, I came across the Purederm Deep Cleansing Nose Strips. The best part? They cost around £1.

For those of you who haven't used or heard about pore strips before then they are a bit like waxing strips, except instead of lifting hairs, they lift blackheads. The Purederm Nose Pore Strips come in a box of 6 which are all individually wrapped in a basic-looking packaging. Inside the individual packages are the nose strips which are backed onto a bit of plastic. Unlike previous pore strips that I have used, these ones don't smell like tea tree oil but they do have a scent to them which I don't find too pleasant.

To apply these pore strips, you need to:
- Wash your face completely and give it a good scrub
- Wet your nose a little and the surrounding areas before peeling the nose strip off of the plastic backing then press it onto your nose
- Leave the nose strip on your nose for 5-10 minutes or until the strip has firmed up
- Once you are ready, slowly peel off the pore strip and stare at it in disgust

So, did they work? In a word, yes. I didn't take a photo of the results as it is a bit grim but after a few minutes these pore strips lifted away a few of my blackheads and I imagine that if I use these over time, hopefully one day they will all be gone.

  1. I've had that problem of the cost! Where did you find these? :)
