Review // Avon True Colour Blusher in Russet

Avon True Colour Blusher - £4.00
I am a huge fan of Avon. The thought of flicking through a little catalogue of beauty products, choosing what I like the look of, writing it down on the little bit of paper and giving it to a kind lady who knocks on my door. A while ago I was having my usual flick through the little book when I saw the Avon True Colour Blushes. These come in three different shades - Earthen Rose, Soft Plum and Russet, the shade I chose.

The packaging to the Avon True Colour Blusher resembles that of Chanel. I have a Chanel Eyeshadow Quad and they look very identical in my make-up bag. Inside the Avon compact is a very good mirror which is excellent for touch-ups throughout the day and it also comes with a little blusher brush. I have tried this blusher with the brush and with my usual blusher brush (which is Avons Angled Brush) and I have to say I prefer it with my own brush. The brush that comes with it is soft but is too chunky. Instead of a healthy-glow I got Coco The Clown.

Russet is a matte deep coral which in some lights could look a little orange with red undertones. In the pan it looks a bit more peachy but it does transfer a little differently colourwise. It's a very pretty colour when used in moderation! I've used this with the brush it came with and ended up very very orange and flush faced. Less is definitely more with this product as it is incredibly pigmented.

Russet is very soft and applies really easily with my Avon Angled Brush. One light, smooth swipe of colour and I am good to go. Another great thing about this product is it's staying power. I have worn this all day today and it is still in the exact same place as when I applied it at 8AM this morning. Excellent considering the price.

  1. This colour is really pretty for summer x

  2. I get that they put brushes into compacts like this so that you don't have to carry your entire brush collection around with you, but I wish that they would put a decent brush in for once! i always just throw them away! xxxx

    1. I didn't even realise why they did it! Makes sense! Perhaps one brand one day will put a good one in a palette! xx
